School-based health centers (SBHCs) provide a bridge between these disciplines. Professionals who staff SBHCs routinely interface with key partners within their host schools. This article provides lessons from the field, exploring the intricacies of the collaborative process from the perspective of 17 nurse practitioners working in an SBHC in Cook County, Illinois.
